Looking for a 'good' CELTA centre

I wonder what are the most crucial issues to bear in mind while choosing the 'right' CELTA centre.
After days of google search, I'd appreciate any additional information like personal experience, tips or whatever.
The UK is the country I am particularly interested in, yet it's not final.

I did my CELTA at South Thames College in Wandsworth. It was hard work but I really enjoyed the course and we got the PTLLS as an extra qualification which the people I work with didn't get. I paid more for the course than people I work with but fee that I got more.

  • South London isn't a cheap place to live so that might factor in your desicion.
  • Should you want to study there I can put you in touch wih the right person, though it is all available on their website.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Indeed, London is the last place I was thinking of. I do love this city but not during the Olympic Games. I hear a lot about how dreadfully arduous CELTA is going to be and honestly begin to feel a bit nervous. Not sure I could cope with another course at the same time. PTLLS seems quite interesting at least on-line, I might think of it next year, that is if I last tha

I use my PTLLS all the time as I train and teach in the UK. The certificate also comes from Cambridge although you are right City and Guilds also award this qualification. To get the PTLLS qualification takes nothing when combined with the CELTA but to do it as a stand alone qualification takes about another 24 hours for level 4.

The qualification isn't that much use outside of the UK

Try Brighton (Hove) ISE, I did mine there part time and it was a great course. Challenging but great!
