Looking for a financial term

What exactly is umbrella term that covers all the investments that involves actual stock certificates and/or anything that involves an actually ticket and/or certificate(yes I know that my descriptions are ambiguous, but if there's anything that comes to your mind and you're willing to share, I will be really thankful!:))

Thanks!:)

The word you're looking for is "securities," which is a term for the documentation of ownership of a broad range of financial instruments. html These days, "actual stock certificates" aren't actually necessary, as most securities are registered in the owners' names by electronic means.

Weren't you looking for the types of investments that have certificates of ownership associated with them? In the US, these types of investments are called securities.
