Looking for a better way to write "taking the initiative"

I am writing a cover letter and this last part is wordy:

"If selected, I will bring several attributes to the internship: A positive attitude about learning, taking the initiative to help my co-workers..."

I need an alternative to taking the initiative. I thought about "showing initiative at work." or "initiative" or "self motivation."

Hello, Bilal—and welcome to English Forums. It is wordy because you have not learned how to be clear and direct: If selected for the internship, I will bring an eagerness to learn and a strong sense of teamwork.
