Look Under There??

Teachers, in this situation where a man finds out a ring under the bed and his wife says to him, "I looked under there three times!", what does the adverb "THERE" stands for? "UNDER" is a prepostion and I thought that an adverb doesn't come after a preposition.

There is a noun and a pronoun also, so it can easily be the object of a preposition: We went across there,He put it under there , etc. In your sentence, there refers to the bed.
