look (strange/ strangely)?

While I read my text, I found that a sentence sounds strange. Hope somebody answer me. Thank you

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sat at the foot of the bed and read to myself while I waited for it to be time to give another capsule. It would have been natural for him to go to sleep, but when I looked up, he was looking at the foot of the bed, looking very strangely.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My question is,

'looking very strangely' can be all right, then, it will mean the boy looked at the foot of the bed in a stragne manner.

But, I think the meaning should be the boy looked unusual. Then, it should be 'looking very strange.'

What do you think? Thank you again.

And one more question..

All I need ( is / are ) a computer, a digital camera and a special software. I think answer should be 'are' but says that 'is' is the answer. If 'is' is the answer, would you explain it to me?

Thank you.

I am a little bit surprised that 'looking very strangely' sounds better to you at first, but after reading you, I read it repeatedly and I accept that it will surely be meaning 'looking very strangely' and also thank you for the answer for 'all that I want is'.
