Look or look like

Hi teachers~

I was reading an article about Scarlett Johansson and I was wondering why LOOK is right here.

Shouldn't it be look like?

There were tons of speculation by the public and the tabloids that Scarlett was going on unimaginable crash diets and losing insane amounts of weight just to look the part for her movie roles.

Thanks ~~

Think of 'look the part' as an idiom. It means "look appropriate for the role".
