Look like

Guy 1 - What do your paintings look like?

Guy 2 - That's a little hard to explain. They're abstract.

Guy 1 - So they don't really look like anything?

Guy 2 - No, that's the whole idea.

Hi. Does "look like" seem natural to you in Guy 1's second line of dialog? Or would one of "depict" or "represent" be a better choice?

'represent' is a more formal choice, but not necessarily better. Personally, I wouldn't choose 'depict'.
