Look into what you eat at home

1. As homework, I want you to write what you eat in your notebook and bring it to school.

2. As a homework, I want you to look into what you eat at home and write it in your notebook.

Can I say #2?

I don't even know how to say it in short.

#2 is intended to mean 'I want you to find out/figure out what you eat at home and write it in your notebook.'

You think about what you eat at home and write them in your notebook... something like that..

I can say 'find out/figure out'?

Both of those verbs are odd, because it takes no figuring or searching to know what we eat: it is set clearly and simply before us at each meal!

I want you to note in your notebook what you eat at home.
