Look for a scientific editor who won't break the bank

I'm looking for a scientific editor to proof-read a thesis. Most professional businesses charge $600-1000. I can't drop that kind of cash as a graduate student. Anyone do this part-time/freelance or for a living but won't charge 3 weeks of my salary?
