Look at... as something

Hi,

I am wondering if this is an existing idiom for expressing my point:

"We can look at veins as highways of the body"

I am also concerned about the use of articles. Could you please recommend a good site ( with lots of examples) which can provide a decent summary of the usage of articles? The definite article is what usually confuses me.

"We can look at veins as highways of the body" -- This is native. I have not seen any particular site that covers articles in abundant detail, though there are many online that offer information. s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1338125836&sr=1-3
