Longman Dictionary about "invite"

0 I asked why Longman Dictionary didn't recommend to say "I'd like to invite you…" or "I want to invite you…". Here's that page from Longman Dictionary. 0-

00I think one of the reasons why the authors of the dictionary doesn't recommend you to say those might be because they may sound rather like a demand or 'a must' . The invitation would sound more polite or 'open' if you use the phrases, 'Do you want to....?', 'Would you like to...?' etc. So you are actually01i00 02i01b00ask
