Longest lane

The longest lane has a turning.

I Googled the sentence but what I found wasn't about explaining the meaning of the sentence. Would anyone, please, explain the meaning of the sentence?

Hi The phrase I was taught is "It's the longest lane that has no turning". It means that a road without any bends or side roads is boring and seems to go on for ever. In life, we have to try and find a road that has the possibility of changing direction, if that's what we need to do I see no problem in changing the meaning slightly (if that's what has happened there): Even the longest lane has a turning - sooner or later we find a new direction Dave
