Long since

Good afternoon!

Does "we have long since seen each other" mean the same as "It is a long time since we saw each other"?

I have asked it in another thread but it's still unanswered and I am so eager to get an answer =)

I cannot think of a way that it could mean the same thing.

??????? ??????Does "we have long since seen each other"

It's not an expression that is used much (if any) anymore. Dave gave you the right idea.

I see this more often:

We have long since been friends.

Basically paraphrased as: Since that event just mentioned, which was a long time ago, we have been friends.
