Long or big break?

In this context i would use "long" instead of "big" before "break" :

After that we had a long tea break.

but i can not explain why.

Can i use "big" in this sentence? If 'no' What would you think about if you heard something like "We had a big break." ? Whould you think about "interval between two actons" or some other meaning of the word?

Hi, In this context i would use "long" instead of "big" before "break" : After that we had a long tea break. but i can not explain why. Because 'long' suggests duration better than 'big'.
