LONDON

Dear Teachers,

1. Why did you think the US and the NATO go after Milesovic?

- What does "go after" mean here?

2. What does "cash dispenser" mean?

3. How goes the enemy?

- This means "what's the time?", right? and is it common?

4. What does "the Great Fire of London" mean?

5. Does "supporting cook" mean "a person who helps the chef cooking"?

Thanks very much to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

You have many questions, so I'll tackle only a couple:

4 Great fire of London.

1 Go after: Pursue, try to get, as in The officer went after the burglar; or Ed was going after a new job with a vengeance (http://www.dictionary.com/)

Hi,

3. How goes the enemy?

- This means "what's the time?", right? Generally, this expression does not relate to time. I guess that you may be thinking, in this particular case, that time is our enemy, death is approaching us all, etc?

How goes .... means How is something/someone doing? What is happening
