Logic Sequence

Of the two dialogues, which is more logical? Are both fine?

1. 'Artistic people can be very difficult sometimes.' 'Well, you should know - you married one.'

2. 'Artistic people can be very difficult sometimes.' 'Well, you married one. You should know .'

By the way, what does the first speaker mean by “difficult”? Does it mean “hard to get along with” or “in financial trouble”?

# 1 is the most common pattern.

'Well, you should know - you married one

# 2 isn't wrong grammatically but it sounds a bit off the pattern.

Both are fine. I suppose with the other posters that #1 might be a bit more common, but really the conversation flow and the speaker's sense of the mot juste may well decide
