Lodged and Work

How would you say these 2 sentences?

1 The cyst is lodged badly which is why it hurts when you work your muscles lifting weights.

Do you "work a muscle"?

Thank you

Hi, The first sentence would be better this way: The cyst is deeply (or badly) lodged, which is why it hurts when you lift weights. Yes, you do 'work a muscle', that is correct. I teach English and hope this helps.

The grammar is good, but I'm not sure about the physiology. How must the cyst be positioned (lodged) in order to interfere with the action of the muscles?

Anon assumes the deeper it is the more it will hurt. I don't believe this assumption is waranted.
In this case, I think "badly" is better.
