Location of more

"With MLB teams scouting the KBO players significantly more this season and considering the success of Korean players currently playing abroad, experts predict that more will join the big leagues in the near future."

The location of more is correct?

I think that 'scout more players is natural' or the more is a comparative form of much? And then 'scout players much' is natural in meaning?

What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much and Merry Christmas.

In "scout more players", "more" modifies "players", so the meaning is "scout a larger number of players". e. it is saying that the scouting activity is greater this season.

  • it is saying that the scouting activity is greater this season.
  • This may (presumably will) result in more players being scouted, but logically the purpose of "more" is different.

In "scout more players", "more" modifies "players", so the meaning is "scout a larger number of players". In the original sentence, "more" means "more than in previous seasons", i.e. it is saying that the scouting activity is greater this season. This may (presumably will) result in more players being scouted, but logically the purpose of "more" is different.
