Local grocery

I just got back from vacation and I'm talking to the local grocery: I say:

I just got back in town and school started, so you're right about getting back on track. Or

I just got back in town and school's started, so you're right about getting back on track.

ARe both useable and interchangeable? Which would you use? I prefer the present perfect because school began only recently.

Thanks!
