At the end of the first episode of the comedy series Friends, Chandler is being talking about his new dream. He says:"I am in Las Vegas. I am Liza Minnelli ..." Then the spisode ends with laughters. Could you tell who is Liza? And why is it a kind of thing arosing in laughters? Thanks.

I think you should look at Chandler's sentence in context.

First, the episode you're talking about opens with Chandler telling his friends about another dream he had had (the one about being naked and having a phone … there! If I'm not mistaken, you posted something about that sentence, didn't you?). As you can see, both the dreams give the idea of a great sense of emba

I don't know anything about Friends, except that it always seems to be on; but maybe Liza Minnelli's popularity among gay men is significant.
