live on or off

How would you say this sentence yourself?

She lives off/on real-estate she rents out. She has a few house she leases and that's what she lives on.

In the sentence I've constructed, it would be almost as correct to say "receives for" as it is to say "receives on." It's an ambiguous case. Some clearer examples of correct use: "She earns money on that investment." "She receives payment for the use of her property."
