What's the opposite off live mic/hot mic?

His racist remarks was picked up by his hot/live mic.

I need an adjective modifying the noun, mic like ____ mic.

Tricky one.

There is the phrase off mic, but this doesn't really refer to the mic being switched off, rather that whatever was said was not picked up by the mic. So something was said off mic.

Don't know if it helps.

I think people say 'a dead mic'.

When I'm in the studio we use dead mic to mean one that doesn't work, rather than one not switched on. This mic's dead - not working.

If it's not switched on, we just say - this mic's off
