Live in the moment

- If I had to give someone one major life lesson, I would tell them to live in the moment. I'm a very dedicated student, and I'm always looking to the future. However I think that because of this, I have missed out on a lot of life.

- Are "live in the moment" and "live in the present" interchangeable here? And by the way "missed out on a lot of life" means "miss out on a lot of things in life", right?

Thanks a lot to Teachers,
