Live and die

What does it mean by "live and die" in the extract below?
Is it interchangeable with "eat, sleep, and breath" ?

Now that Google is discontinuing their Google Calendar Sync, what is the best Android app to use? I live and die by Outlook (calendar, contacts, etc.) and need my phone to sync with my computer.

Thank you for your help, appreciated!

Best,

Life is when outlook etc are working; death is when they are not working; so basically your whole life runs on them - rather like the eat, sleep and breath you mention. d
