Hello,

1. I have lived in Mumbai. ( It means that I don't live now.)

2. I have lived in Mumbai since 1992. ( It means that I still live in Mumbai)

Are my interpretations are correct?

The past simple is used to express habits and states that existed during a period of time in the past. This period can be implied or expressed with a time expression or a clause:

1. When my brother was young, he liked spinach. (State)

I think this should be for a habit.

2. When I was a child, I visited my grandma every weekend. (habit)

Here's how I see it.

a habit an often-repeated act.
eg I visited my grand-parents 50 times.
It doesn't make sense to say 'I liked spinach 50 times'.

a state is an existing condition.
eg I liked spinach.
