little opportunity/few opportunities?

Hello,

There is little opportunity for jobs.
There are few opportunities for jobs.

Which is correct?

Thanks.

Top answer

Both are possible. The second is perhaps more usual because 'jobs' is countable. #1 would read better as 'There is little opportunity for work'.
