Little does he know...

Hello,

I'd like to know whether you find the following sentence correct: "Little does he know how complex it IS to rise to the challenge." ?

Or should we use future tense: "Little does he know how complex it WILL BE to rise to the challenge."

In my opinion both of them work, depending on the point of view. Thank you for your answers.

I agree. It IS tough (each time we do it). It WILL BE tough (when we do it in the future).
