A. 1 grain = 0.0648 gram

B. 1 pint = 0.57 litre

C. 1 grain = 0.0648 grams

D. 1 pint = 0.57 litres

A is quoted from A Basic English Grammar. D is quoted from Webster's New World Dictionary, Student Edition.

Are B and C also acceptable?

Writers are pretty sloppy about this, but if the number is less than 1.0, use the singular.

PS: Swan says that we 'normally' use the singular (in the form 'of a + singular noun), but that we 'also' use the plural directly (as in your D). So I don't know-- though I still like my answer.
