Context: This is a stanza from the poem Lord Ullin's Daughter by Thomas Campbell. It is a ballad wherein the Lord Ullin's daughter who is in love with a Chieftain runs for life with her lover as her father and his men are chasing them.The boatman to whom the couple plead to help them reach the other side of the river, says these words. The boatman's help is all the more important now as the weather is rough.
