http://kiwi6.com/file/bde91qrtop (Bottom left-hand corner)

Please spend some time listening to the recording first.

Well, this was very detailed research in which a number of groups of ordinary people had had long discussions about what (1)??? an essential item (2)???, what really needs to go into a household budget to achieve a minimum acceptable standard of living, and they thought long and hard about what things are sort of luxuries (3)??? might want (skipped)

(1) Is the word "actually"?

(2) I heard there was a sound but I couldn't catch the word.

(3) I heard the word was "simply" but it didn't make sense to me.

Please help. Thank you very much!
