I'm looking for more like a list like: V, B, D, E all have similar auditory sounds, etc.

Essentially, just trying to see if anyone has a list, or if I'll have to build my own.

Are you talking about the way we say the letter name?

B, C, D, E, G, P, T, V, Z all have the "ee" sound when we say them, for example, and A, J, K have the "ay" sound.

Believe it or not, I have seen a rather unusual exercise in which beginners are asked, after learning to recite the alphabet, to place the letters in columns according to the sound of the letter names. I believe this is designed to get them to begin t

This is helpful, since I know people who have difficulty distinguishing some sounds on the phone -- i.e. B and D can sound alike, unless the speaker is using the "B for Boy, D for Dog" sort of mechanism.

So I am trying to prepare a list so they can get a sense of words that sound alike in this sort of case. Does this make sense?

If you are telling someone letters over the phone, it may be easy to confuse one letter with another

Saying letters over the phone or radio can be confusing to the recieving party which is why we have a phonetic alphabet. Of course many done know the correct phonetic alphabet, so they make it up. S as in snake
