Does the expression 'link of connection' make sense in English?


For instance, would it be correct to say:


"Being able to speak another language is a link of connection to another culture and world."

'link' and 'connection' are two ways of saying the same thing, so that's not going to work. Use one or the other.

... is a link to another culture ...
... is a connection to another culture ...

(I think 'link' is better, but both are OK.)
