Question:

Everyone should become vegetarian because they do not need to eat meat to have a healthy diet. Do you agree or disagree?

Answer:

The idea that people should follow a meatless diet to stay healthy remains a source of controversy. In my opinion, I agree that vegetarian diet can do the the body good, therefore, meat consumption is no longer needed.

A diet rich in vegetables makes great improvements to health. Firstly, vegetables and fruits are rich in vitamin so they are the perfect food to build up one’s immune system. For example, apple which contains Vitamin C, E and kali helps to reduce the risk of developing cancer and heart disease. Secondly, an eating habit which involves a lot of greens can help people stay in shape. As plant-based foods are low in fat and high in fiber they comprise few calories. Thus, those who wish to avoid putting on weight should go vegetarian. Eating only fresh fruits and vegetables not only helps people keep fit but also fends off illness.

In contrast with a vegeterian diet, a meat-based diet can be detrimental to health. Consuming a large amout of red meat on a regular basis can result in some serious health problems. If the old eat too much meat, chances are they will elevate blood cholesterol which is the key risk factor for strokes and heart diseases. A diet rich in animal fat is also attributable to obesity. Youngsters who often enjoy eating processed meat such as sausage and ham are more prone to put on weight than their counterparts who consume less meat. As a result of overweight, they will be more passive and can develop mental illness such as depression and anxiety.

In conclusion, with all the reasons mentioned above, I believe that we should follow a vegeterian diet and eliminate meat from our everyday meal for a healthier lifestyle.
