Linguistic File

Hello!
I'm an undergraduate student and I'm obliged to deliver a so called "linguistic file" which shall provide rudimentary examples of applying linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax; three examples each) to everyday speech, literature, lyrics. I have, however, great troubles finding adequate examples whereas everything I come up with seems to by way too complicated and leaving me in the trouble of being unable to analyze my examples.
Something I came up with was "fran-tick-tick-tick-tick-tock", concerning onomatopeia and extension of word meaning but apart from that I'm really having trouble here. Deadline's coming soon Emotion: sad

I'd appreciate any suggestions/comments or just plain examples...

Thanks a lot,
Ricardo
