lingering conditional dilemma

Hi,

I think it may be the best time to move on to another area of inquiry but still have some lingering questions on conditional.

If someone's shirt was untucked in the pants, would you tell them?

Is this a second conditional? If it is, why did not make what I believe to be a typical second conditional pattern like:

If someone's shirt were untucked in the pants, would you tell them?

Or possibly this? Is this correct?

If someone's shirt is untucked in the pants, would you go ahead and tell them?

This 'would you something' patten after an if-clause is difficult to understand.
