In general, the number of people who will learn these languages is likely to increase significantly between 2020 and 2030. While learning English is the highest figure during whole the period, the lowest participants will be Mandarin in the first half of the period.
Looking at details, as regards English learners, the number of people will increase from around 550 million in 2020 to 700 million in 2014 and after that there will fall slightly to approximately 600 million. Following this, the figure reverse and go up sharply to just over 700 million, which meant that it will be the highest figure during whole period. If we look at the number of Mandarin students, the trend will similar. This meant that it predicts to start at 200 million in 2020 and then rocket to just over 500 million, this will be the lowest number of students who will learn Mandarin. As for Spanish, it forecasts to increase from 100 million in 2020 to just over 550 in 2040.
