like/alike

Which word would be used here? "like" or "alike"? How can I differentiate?

It's rather difficult to distinguish the two pictures. They are almost alike/like.

Thanks

alike

Two pictures that look alike look very similar. There isn't much difference between them.

Thanks.

When would I use "like"?

Hi,

I was taught that "alike" is a predicate adjective. Contrarily, "like" can only be used before a noun as an adj..

Forums are places one can meet people with like interests.

You can say:

This is a like picture.
(meaning similar to another one).

"like" is completely replaceable by "similar to".so we can get the right word using the "similar to" test.

0It would be "alike". You use "alike" at the end of a sentence or phrase, after the 2 words you are comparing. Use "like" between the words:02br
02br
00Alice looks like Alan. Alice and Alan look alike.0-

0you should use "alike" for tha fact that like is always followed by a noun and "alike " comes to the end of the sentence0-

S.T + V + like S.T - ST and S.T +V+alike

Eg: This car look like that one.
This car and that one look alike.
