Like an adults, Young children do not organize their attention or perceptions systematically.

ETS says in First one like an adults is ambiguous whereas in second one its not. Why is not ambiguous in second one too?

should it not be AS rather than Like... Like is preposition so cant introduce a clause adults do ,perhaps I am wrong

Hi,

In informal English, 'like' is often used in this way as a conjunction. The usage is not very elegant.

Since the whole earlier discussion focused on 'like', I decided not to change the word.
