Like I did/what I did/how I did

Hi. Please help. I think for no. 1 it is correct to write the underlined as "like what I did." Could it be correct to write "like I did" there? But for no. 2, I think we can write both "like what I did" and "like how I did": "what I did" as sort of action completed and "how I did" to refer to the some kind of a procedural concept involved. Thank you in advance.

1. You can from groups of five or six and assign a line leader at the head of each line, like what I did (like I did?).

2. You can certainly hightlight one element of your lesson, like what I did (like what how I did? like what I did?)

like I did is the most effective option for both sentences. The others you suggest are possible, too, except like what how I did . You can't have that one.

Hi. Thank you. Please tell me if the phrase "like how I did" is possible for both example sentences or just for the number 2 sentence. I am sorry, the phrase "like what how did" is a mistake; it should be "like how I did." And the word "from" in no. 1 should be "form."

Example sentences I wrote:

It is certainly theoretically possible in both, but I don't advise it at all. It is extremely awkward-sounding in both. like and how have overlapping meanings, so putting them together tends to make a clash.

like I did ~ in the manner
