Like Christmas

1) He celebrates his mother's birthday like Christmas.

2) For him, his mother's birthday is like Christmas.

3) He celebrates his mother's birthday like it was Christmas.

Can't these mean two things:

a) He celebrates his mother's birthday like he celebrates Christmas.

b) He celebrates his mother's birthday like others celebrate Christmas. (Maybe he doesn't celebrate Christmas at all.)

Gratefully,

Navi.
