Is there a comma before "like"?
Is this grammatcially correct?

I am trying to say that the relationship is like a team (like teamwork).

Hi,

The words team and teamwork seem more suited to referring to people, eg college professors.
Yet it seems a bit odd to say that a student and his professors are like a team, because a team suggests more equal partners.
