Not quite. ) It's clear to me that a math class is already required and something else will also be required, but exactly what that something is remains unclear. A writing class?

Not quite.

First, "required" would be better here than "forced." (Unless someone physically holds them in their seats during the class.)

It's clear to me that a math class is already required and something else will also be required, but exactly what that something is remains unclear. A writing class? A literature class? Both? A combination writing and literature class? Try

2 "Players are forced to wear visors like they are with helmets."

In the first sentence, "he was" should expand into "he was force to take a position".
In the second, "they are" expands into "they are forced to wear
