Question

A quart of "light cream" is as heavy as a quart of "heavy cream."Please suggest a better pair of adjectives that might be used to distinguish "light cream" from "heavy cream."

These are specific names of the dairy products made by separating out the lighter elements from fresh raw milk. If you let fresh milk sit for a while, the cream rises to the top and floats. Cream is a dairy product made from the part that floats to the top: the butterfat.

Half-and-half contains 12 percent fat
Light cream contains 20 percent fat (in the UK single cream)
Whipping cream contains 35 percent fat
