Hi

When the sun rises should I say: It's getting lighter or It's getting brighter.

How about a bulb in a room, thanks to it It's getting brighter or lighter?

Newguest When the sun rises should I say: It's getting lighter or It's getting brighter. Both are possible, but "lighter" is most natural to me. I would tend to use "brighter" when clouds cleared during the day.
