Light travels / is traveling ...

Light travels faster than sound.

This is obviously correct. Here’s my question. Can anyone tell me if there is any case where,

“Light is traveling faster than sound.”

is also correct? I mean there is a hell of a lot of light out there. There is no time when light isn’t traveling somewhere or other. The same can be said about sound. Thanks for your help.
