I invite students of the English language to identify the typical accident that's in this excerpt from a page at
headed "Who Owns Guantánamo Bay?":
"The United States Naval Base at Guantánamo is the only military base in a communist country, (. . .)."

And now try this believe-it-or-not excerpt from the same page:

"(. . .) the US built a desalinization plant which produces all the water and electricity required by the base."
