Lift the stand

Hi

Is the term kickstand (bicycle) fairly common? Also, is this sentence correct?

(to someone who is riding with the kickstand still down)

Lift the kickstand of your bicycle; it may cause an accident.

To my knowledge, kickstand is still used. In your sentence, I think raise would be better than 'lift'.
