Lifelong pattern

Hi

People with Parkinson’s disease tend to exhibit a lifelong pattern of depression, fear, anxiety, and a tendency to control both their emotions and environment.

In my view it says that throughout their lives (or constantly) they experience depression, fear, anxiety ...
But maybe "lifelong pattern" has a different meaning?
