Life or lives?

Hi everyone,

I have 1 questions concerning life/lives, could you please answer me?

Computers are ubiquitous in our daily life/lives. (which one is correct and why?)

Also, what is the difference between life and lives? I'm kind of confused.

"life" is singular and "lives" is plural ( "lives" is also the conjugated form of the 3rd person singular, she lives..)

Computers are ubiquitous in our daily life. You only have one life right ?

I think both are possible; it depends on the speaker, doesn't it? I prefer the plural .

Agreed! Both really are possible. But perhaps "our daily life" is more common.Emotion: smile

Use life when the way of living or lifestyle is meant:

The life of sailors is hard.

Use lives when the reference is to each individual's own specific life:

Two people lost their lives.
