Life/ Living

Which form is correct? Is there any difference?
Life with parents/ Living with parents

Top answer

Both are grammatical. Though they mean more or less the same, I think it can be different in this way: Life with parents- Being with parents is seen as a positive or negative factor in a general sense. Living with parents- The practical differences we find from living alone or with the spouse and children.

"Life with my parents" - the title of a book about when you lived with your parents. It does not necessarily mean sharing the same house, but sharing life experiences.

Many young people are living with their parents because they canot find a good-paying job.

(They are sharing the same house.)
